Mahalo donors of the George Hi'ilani Mills Scholarship. It is a great honor to receive this generous award that will help me reach my goal of becoming a doctor. My passion for Native Hawaiian Health and being able to fill in the gaps as a result of the physician shortage in Hawaiʻi has led me to pursue a medical degree at the University of Hawaiʻi JABSOM. Your generosity has lightened my financial burden, allowing me to focus more intently on my studies and clinical training. Although I am just beginning my first year, the road to becoming a physician is challenging, but knowing that there are compassionate individuals like you who believe in and support me is incredibly motivating. I will continue to strive to do my best academically and be a steward of the George Hiʻilani Mills Scholarship values. Mahalo piha!
