Program overview
The Hūlili Scholarship acts as a bridge for ‘ohana, connecting students to private school education that might otherwise be out of reach. It provides tuition assistance to keiki entering Grade 6 or Grade 9 who face financial barriers, opening doors to opportunities while nurturing both individual growth and family resilience.

Eligibility
Students awarded another Pauahi Foundation scholarship will be ineligible for this program.
- Haumāna applying must be: A state of Hawai‘i resident (Hawai‘i residency is defined as having lived continuously in the state of Hawai‘i for at least 12 months of date of application)
- Eligible grades: Rising 6th and 9th graders only
- Eligibility criteria: Keiki must be either (1) currently enrolled in a private school or (2) have already applied to a private school (on the approved school collaborator list)
How to apply
- Complete the online FACTS application
- For parents living in the same household: Submit one application
- For parents in separate households with shared custody: Each parent must submit their own application
- Upload required financial documents
- Entire 2024 federal tax return, including all schedules
- If applicable, provide custody documents
- If the child’s biological parents are not currently married, you will be required to submit all necessary legal documents (divorce decrees, custody agreements, legal guardianship, etc.) to confirm legal custody
- Custodial documentation and questions regarding custody should be submitted to Ho‘oulu Verification Services
- Await decision — Award letters will be emailed starting June 2026
