This past year, the Pauahi Foundation launched a revolving scholarship fund called the Mānowai. The new scholarship allows donors to award $1,000 scholarship awards to a student for the upcoming academic year.
This is welcome news for students pursuing a post-high education because in just one year, through the support of our generous community, 20 brand new $1,000 scholarships were awarded. The Mānowai Scholarship helps solve the issue of meeting the ever-growing demand for scholarships. While we awarded more than 350 recipients this year, the Pauahi Foundation received more than six times that in applications.
This year’s collective goal is to double the number of Mānowai Scholarship recipients. Every contribution, regardless of its size, is a step towards this shared objective. The funds we gather are combined to create $1,000 scholarships. Donors can make a $1,000 one-time gift or commit to monthly gifts of $85, which equates to a full Mānowai Scholarship. Kamehameha Schools employees also have the opportunity to support Mānowai through the Workplace Giving campaign, further strengthening our collective effort.

Donors who contribute a gift of $500 or more to the Mānowai Scholarship are invited to enjoy an evening of beverage and food tastings at the Mānowai event in November at the Barn at SALT at Our Kaka‘ako.
This is an opportunity for Mānowai Scholarship donors to come together as a community as we unveil the annual Mānowai Donor Wall. Make your gift by October 31, 2024 to be included in our invite list and participate in this special event.
