Thank you so much donors! I am so grateful to have received financial support from you as I pursue higher education. I plan to major in either chemical engineering or biochemistry. This year during my internship at UH Hilo I tested the effect of Native Hawaiian ʻolena extract on the growth of cancer cells, which helped me to not only gain hands-on research experience, but to also select prospective majors for college. I chose to attend Stanford as they have many research opportunities that will support me in my growth as a student and as a scientist.
