Our impact
Collectively, we have made great progress and growth, but what excites us the most is the enormous potential we have to do even more.

Aloha Kākou! Mahalo Donors of the Kamehameha Schools Class of 1973 “Proud to be ‘73” Scholarship. I am very honored to be a recipient. Because of this scholarship, I will be able to continue my academic career at Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire. I plan to major in economics at Dartmouth College. I will be travelling thousands of miles away. As I go to college on the mainland, I will be an ambassador of Aloha. Aloha is something that every community, every campus, and every group needs. It is the most important contribution Hawaiʻi makes to the world and something I will bring with me to college. Aloha means smiling and greeting friends and strangers alike, talking out problems face to face, and helping without expecting anything in return. It is something that has been modeled for me all my life, and I carry it with me wherever I go. At College, I would also be able to educate others about the true history of Hawaiians and bring into conversations the indigenous worldview of my people. This scholarship would help me share our Aloha spirit with the world. Mahalo Nui!
