Mahalo donors! This scholarship has been a true blessing and given me more motivation to keep on striving for excellence. I want to achieve success in my classes while also being more involved in research and volunteering with the less fortunate. I believe these experiences will best prepare me for a career in healthcare. My ultimate goal is to becoming a cardiothoracic surgeon, build a cardiac rehabilitation center and program in Pāhoa or Hilo, and teach the importance of health early on to prevent the onset of chronic disease, which will provide a better quality of life and lower the healthcare expenditure.
